BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Landon Jackson out of Arkansas racked up 6.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons on his way to All-SEC honors. Landon has elite size for an edge rusher at 6’6″ which is the same height as Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau and their weight is nearly identical as well.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Sean McDermott and the Bills met formally with Jackson at the NFL Scouting Combine.
“I feel like it went really well,” said Jackson. “We broke down some of my film. Saw the good and saw the bad. I mean, overall, I really enjoyed it.”
News 4 Sports Director, Josh Reed, asked Jackson what impression he hoped to leave on the Bills staff.
“At the end of the day, if they draft me, they’re getting a dog,” said Jackson. “They’re getting a guy who’s going to come in and make an instant impact. Not a guy you got to worry about getting any trouble or causing any problems in the room. So, overall, you’re going to get a dog and a guy who wants to give his all to the program.”
This defensive line draft class is a very talented and deep, so what sets Landon apart from the rest?
“Just the way I fly around,” said Jackson. “I love the game and definitely my length. I’m a really long-levered guy. Play with the motor, use my length, and got a few finesse moves in the bag as well.”
Jackson added that he feels like he’s a very versatile pass rusher.
“I feel like I can slide inside on pass rush situations,” said the former Arkansas defensive end. “Definitely got to put on more weight to where, if I’m inside on the pass rush situation, they run it and I can really hold my own.”
The former Arkansas defensive end is projected to be a mid to late 2nd round draft pick.
