BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Ohio State’s J.T. Tuimoloau was a heat-seeking missile off the edge for the Buckeyes. The only thing more difficult than saying his name is trying to block him.
His resume is as good as it gets in the 2025 NFL draft class. Tuimoloau started all 32 of Ohio State’s games over the past three seasons and was first team All-Big Ten each year.
He credits a lot of his success to the work he does leading up to gametime.
“I think just throughout the week watching film and understanding the little things that the offensive lineman might do,” said Tuimoloau. “Then when you get out there, you’re gonna try to remember all the little tips you learned. But I think at the same time, it’s just having a couple of those in the back pocket, and just reacting. Not really thinking and just going to play ball.”
Tuimoloau was an offensive lineman’s nightmare in 2024 with 21.5 tackles for loss which was the third most in the country. He also finished with 12.5 sacks which was fifth most in the college football.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the former Buckeye was asked which NFL players he uses as a blueprint.
“Frank Clark, Joey Bosa, and Rashawn Gary,” said Tuimoloau. “Big ends, but you wouldn’t think they’re all 260, 265 plus. Just seeing how they rush, how they use power to set up a lot of their stuff, and how they stayed on the rush lane was a couple things that I wanted to take from the game and add it to me.”
Saying his name isn’t easy but some NFL team is going to do in on draft day and they’re going to be happy they did. J.T. Tuimoloau is projected to be a second round draft pick.
