The Pro-Bowl allows several players to show off their skills in front of a larger NFL audience. While viewers won’t see the gridiron action on the field (think Sean Taylor laying out Brian Moorman on a fake punt in 2007), the game does provide fans an opportunity to see the league’s superstars in a fun, relaxed, and competitive atmosphere.
The competition is still important, as players can use honor in negotiations and public relations. Meanwhile, the organization can share its nominees as part of team marketing.
