BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Bills defense is stocking reserves for its Week 15 showdown with the ferocious Lions.
Defensive end Dawuane Smoot and linebacker Baylon Spector were activated from injured reserve Saturday. Smoot had been out since early November after undergoing wrist surgery, and Spector has missed over a month with a calf injury.
Buffalo (10-3) visits Detroit (12-1) on Sunday in a high-profile game between Super Bowl contenders.
To make room on the roster for the returning defenders, the Bills released offensive lineman Will Clapp and wide receiver Jalen Virgil. Safety Kareem Jackson and quarterback Mike White were elevated from the practice squad.
Starting cornerback Rasul Douglas has been ruled out with a knee injury, and the Bills could be even thinner in the secondary with safeties Taylor Rapp (neck/shoulder) and Damar Hamlin (back/ribs) both questionable to play. Tight ends Dalton Kincaid (knee) and Quinton Morris (shoulder/groin), and defensive end Casey Toohill (ribs) are also listed as questionable.
