The Bills look to win in Indianapolis for the first time since 1998
The Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts are set to kick off in just a bit. It’s the first matchup between these two clubs in the state of Indiana since the 2018 season. That was quarterback Derek Anderson’s first start for the Bills, and he threw three interceptions in an ugly 37-5 loss.
Quarterback Josh Allen was a rookie for that game, but he had suffered an elbow injury against the Houston Texans just one week prior. That injury sidelined him for five weeks. The Bills went two games without scoring a touchdown, including that Colts game debacle, on their way to a 6-10 finish.
This year, Joe Flacco makes his second start for Indianapolis, as he replaced an ineffective Anthony Richardson in hopes of qualifying for the playoffs in a wide-open AFC. Indianapolis lost last week in Flacco’s first start to fall to 4-5, and while they are just one game back of the Denver Broncos for the last Wild Card spot, they are in danger of falling out of the race entirely.
