Gray’s resume continues to catch the attention of NFL front offices
It’s a matter of when, not if, Buffalo Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray is hired for the role of general manager with an NFL team. Gray continues to be a hot name in current NFL general manager hiring circles.
As now, Gray has reportedly advanced to the second round of interviews with the Tennessee Titans, currently searching for their next general manager after parting ways recently with Ran Carthon. Turron Davenport was the first to share the news that Gray — along with five other candidates — remains firmly in contention to be Tennessee’s next general manager.

This isn’t the first time Terrance Gray has been sought out by NFL teams looking for their next general manager. He was interviewed by the Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders following Buffalo’s success in 2023. Gray also declined an interview request by the New England Patriots for their general manager position last season, choosing to stay in Buffalo and continue his work with the Bills’ organization.
Gray brings a wealth of experience and a track record of hard work yielding success at every level. Gray has been with the front office of One Bills Drive since 2017, when both head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane arrived. Since that point in time, the Bills have turned into one of the NFL’s premiere teams, and Gray has seen his stock and position rise in kind.
Gray originally joined the Bills as the team’s director of college scouting before being named as assistant director of player personnel in 2022, and then promoted to the director’s position after Joe Schoen accepted the role of general manager with the New York Giants.
Before joining the Bills, Gray was part of the Minnesota Vikings’ front office, working as a college scout for 11 seasons. Gray cut his teeth in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs beginning in 2003.
Gray was nominated by the Bills to take part in the NFL’s Front Office & General Manager Accelerator Program. Should Gray be hired by the Titans, the Bills would be entitled to two third-round draft picks as compensation.
