The New England Patriots tried to interview a member of the Buffalo Bills front office but were turned down.
According to Albert Breer, the Patriots reached out to the Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray. They wanted to interview him for their top football executive position (basically their general manager job) but Gray turned them down.
Despite this, Eliot Wolf is expected to be the hire for the Patriots.
Gray likes his position with the Bills and didn’t want to go to a divisional rival. He helps general manager Brandon Beane build the team and is dedicated to trying to ring a Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo.
Assuming Wolf gets the gig, he’ll be the main decision-maker for the Patriots roster, which will be a chance since it’s usually been Bill Belichick.
Well, Belichick isn’t there anymore after he and the Patriots parted ways following the conclusion of the 2023 season. Jerod Mayo is now the team’s head coach.
The Patriots are coming off a 4-13 2023 season and missed the playoffs for a second straight season. They’ve also missed the playoffs in three of the last four seasons.
