The Buffalo Bills were involved in a blockbuster trade on Wednesday.
After weeks and months of rumors, they traded star wideout Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second-round pick. They now have a big need at the wide receiver position and will likely take one early in the 2024 NFL Draft.
General manager Brandon Beane held a press conference after making the deal and confirmed that the timing made sense for a trade.
“The value seemed to make sense and the timing made sense for them and for us,” Beane said, via ProFootballTalk.
Their wide receiver room will look a lot different for the 2024 season. Outside of Diggs, Gabe Davis is also gone while Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins joined the team during free agency.
Diggs instantly makes the Texans better and they’ll be a sleeper Super Bowl pick for a lot of people this season. He’s a true WR1 and can make any catch.
The Texans are all-in for this season as they try and capitalize on C.J. Stroud’s rookie contract. He still has some time left on it before he gets his big contract.
Both teams are coming off losses in the AFC divisional round of the playoffs.
