ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Rookie defensive tackle DeWayne Carter will miss at least the next four Buffalo Bills games after being placed on injured reserve Friday.
Bills coach Sean McDermott said Carter requires surgery to repair a wrist injury. He’s eligible to return for Buffalo’s game against San Francisco on Dec. 1, following the Bills bye weekend off.
The third-round pick’s playing time has gradually increased, and is coming off a game in which he made a game-turning play. Carter stuffed running back Tony Pollard for a 2-yard loss on fourth down on the Titans’ second-half opening drive to set up Buffalo scoring the go-ahead points on its next possession.
The Bills also will be without starting middle linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle) and wide receiver Curtis Samuel (pectoral muscle) for Sunday’s game in Seattle.
