Divisional matchups are always important, and today’s game has big-time implications for both squads
The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins will end their season series today, merely halfway through the 2024 NFL season. And while it is only Week Nine, both clubs are trending in entirely different directions.
Buffalo sits at 6-2 with a 2-0 AFC East record. Their neareest competitors for a divisional crown are the New York Jets, who are 3-6 with a 1-2 AFC East record, which includes a 23-20 loss to the Bills. Buffalo defeated Miami in their first matchup, as well, winning 31-10 in September during the second week of the season.
For the Dolphins, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returns for his second game since suffering another major concussion earlier this season. It happened in the fourth quarter of the loss to the Bills. He was efficient last week against the Arizona Cardinals (28/38, 234 yards, one touchdown), but Miami lost the game 28-27.
For the Bills, quarterback Josh Allen looks to continue his career-long dominance against Miami. In 13 regular-season games against the Dolphins, Allen averages 22 completions, 34 passing attempts, three passing touchdowns, .5 interceptions, 269 passing yards, seven rushing attempts, 49 rushing yards, and .4 rushing touchdowns per game. Allen and the Bills are 11-2 in those contests.
