It’s going to be cold in the AFC Divisional Round game between the Ravens and Bills.
The weather in Western New York on Sunday is going to be everything a Buffalo winter is known for – freezing temperatures, snow, wind, all of it – and there is a football game being played right as the sun sets and the temperatures begin to drop even further. The AFC Divisional Round game between the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern with a predicted temperature of 11º Fahrenheit. A nice 15-mph wind will make that 11º feel more like –3º. Perfect football weather if you are a literal Buffalo.
Maybe not so great for the Bills’ opponents. The Baltimore Ravens held practice indoors on Wednesday, with head coach John Harbough responding to questions from members of the media by saying that indoor practice was chosen as the fields in Baltimore are frozen.

While Harbough’s decision is probably the correct one as it would be assumed that the Ravens are attempting to avoid any injuries that could occur practicing on a frozen field, the team has taken plenty of heat on social media for their lack of love for the cold.
“Who’s gonna tell him that the field will be frozen in Buffalo?”
“Ain’t gonna be much better in buffalo, at some point its about getting things done even when it hurts.”
“And it will be frozen in Buffalo. Should have practiced outside. Remember this if they lose.”
“oh, well then if it’s cold Sunday maybe Coach can ask to move the game inside. Geez at least McDaniels pretended not to be a wuss about the cold”
Of course, the Bills practiced in their indoor field house too, but they have gone on to say that they are welcoming a cold game.

It’s no surprise that the Bills want a game with frigid temperatures. The last time they played in these conditions, quarterback Josh Allen made history with the NFL’s first ever perfect game by a quarterback: every drive ended in either a touchdown or a end of half/game as Allen led the Bills to a 47-17 victory over the New England Patriots.
Sunday will have similar weather. Bills fans are hoping for similar results. And, apparently, the Ravens are hoping for heaters and big jackets.
