Davis joins a prestigious list of NFL players nominated for their dedication to community service
Buffalo Bills rookie running back Ray Davis was named the Week 9 NFLPA Community MVP, following his continued dedication to working with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of America, now doing so in his home NFL city of Buffalo where he works with youth advocacy groups in Western New York, as well as his home city of San Francisco, CA.
Davis partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Buffalo to host an event at Highmark Stadium for mentors and mentees in the program. Working with Big Brothers Big Sisters is a true passion project for Davis, who grew up within the foster care system and followed his dreams thanks to the mentorship he received. Now as a national advocate for BBBS, Davis hopes to share his experience in any way he can with at-risk children who share life experiences similar to his own.
Davis has made the most of his opportunities through BBBS, overcoming huge challenges that saw him homeless at the age of 12. The mentorship he received through BBBS left a lifelong impression on Davis, who has also been named a Game Changer by the organization for his dedication to creating awareness, access and opportunities through mentorship.
Davis is just the fourth rookie to earn NFLPA Community MVP honors since the the program’s inception 11 years ago.
