Plus, on the second anniversary of his cardiac arrest incident, safety Damar Hamlin pays it forward by creating a scholarship program.
The Buffalo Bills (13-3) have secured the two seed in the AFC and feature one of the NFL’s most exciting, high-scoring offenses in the NFL led by dual-threat quarterback Josh Allen.
But despite their team success, today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off with the news that the Bills only received two Pro Bowl nods: Allen and starting left tackle Dion Dawkins.
Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins to start Pro Bowl for AFC
Both Allen and Dawkins were voted in as starters for the AFC in the NFL’s annual version of its all-star game. Allen earned his third Pro Bowl selection — although he has traditionally opted out of playing in the games — while Dawkins has now been named a Pro Bowler four times during his Bills career.
After learning they both made the Pro Bowl, Allen congratulated Dawkins on the accomplishment before stating that their intention should be to decline the Pro Bowl invitation because they are after a Super Bowl win. “We’ve got bigger plans, not to be in Orlando, but to be in New Orleans [the site of Super Bowl LVIII],” Dawkins said when asked to recall his conversation with Allen about the Pro Bowl honor.
In addition to Allen and Dawkins, eight other Bills were selected as Pro Bowl alternates: Running back James Cook and center Connor McGovern (first alternates), safety Damar Hamlin (second alternate), linebacker Terrel Bernard (third alternate), and fullback Reggie Gilliam, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, right tackle Spencer Brown, and tight end Dalton Kincaid (fourth alternates).

Damar Hamlin creates scholarship program
On the second anniversary of his cardiac arrest incident, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin announced the creation of the Buffalo Heroes Scholarship, which will support underserved high school and college-bound students who hope to attend Buffalo-area private high schools, trade schools or universities. The funding includes a total of $1,000 per student for 10 scholarships annually over a three-year period.
