Keon Coleman failed to make a substantial impact as a rookie after the Buffalo Bills selected him early in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft. Now, with changes happening around him on the Buffalo offense, fantasy managers must decide whether it’s still worth keeping the Bills wide receiver for the long haul in dynasty leagues.
Keon Coleman Dynasty Outlook (2025 Fantasy Football)
Bills Star’s Current Production
Coleman finished his debut campaign with a modest 29 catches for 556 yards and four touchdowns across 13 regular-season appearances. The biggest concern came after a wrist injury he suffered in early November, though. He was a complete non-factor in the offense after he returned in mid-December.
The Florida State product recorded just 10 receptions in seven games, including the playoffs, during the most important stretch of the season. He made just three grabs on eight targets in the postseason. He wasn’t anywhere close to the difference-maker the Bills were betting on.

Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane provided a blunt assessment after the team’s season-ending playoff loss to the rival Kansas City Chiefs.
“I would say probably was a little disappointed in the return from the injury. I did not see the same player down the stretch from a physicality, some of the things that he needs to use his size,” Beane told reporters. “Some of that is youth, some of that is, I’m not sure how many injuries he’s had to overcome in-season and come back. That takes a certain experience level, how to deal with an injury and how to return.”
All told, Coleman wrapped up the year with a lackluster 68.8 Pro Football Focus overall grade.
The Bills can only hope the changes around Coleman in the wide receiver room, led by the addition of Joshua Palmer, will help him find a role he’s more comfortable in 2025. An injury-free season would help, too.
Keon Coleman Dynasty Price
Coleman is ranked as the No. 43 receiver and No. 95 overall player in dynasty leagues heading into the 2025 season, according to the ranking website KeepTradeCut. His overall rating, on a 1-9999 scale, currently stands at 4699.
The wideout’s rating peaked at 5398 shortly after he reeled in five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks in late October. He got hurt in the next game and his rating has since been on a steady decline.
Keon Coleman Dynasty Outlook Amid Contract Talks
Palmer’s arrival should aid Coleman in his quest for a sophomore season breakout. It allows the 21-year-old Louisiana native to switch from the X to the Z within the Bills offense. That’s the role he played at FSU en route to earning First Team All-ACC honors in 2023.
While that’s good for Coleman, how much will it really help his fantasy stock? The answer is probably not as much fantasy managers would hope.

The Bills implemented an “everybody eats” mentality last season. They spread the ball around following the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. That tandem had eaten up a lion’s share of the targets over the previous few years.
That’s likely going to remain the case in 2025. Buffalo features four wide receivers (Coleman, Palmer, Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel) as well as two tight ends (Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox) who will be competing for targets. That doesn’t even take into account the pass-catching running backs (James Cook and Ty Johnson) or any further additions in the draft.
As a result, it’s hard to imagine Coleman having a true breakout season, at least statistically. The crowded competition for looks from MVP quarterback Josh Allen will prevent anyone from being a true fantasy superstar. No one will see double-digit targets consistently.
So, while Coleman may have a bigger impact for the Bills, his fantasy stock may not skyrocket.
What To Do With Bills Wide Receiver in Dynasty Leagues
Coleman represents a tricky situation in fantasy leagues. Managers likely invested a decently high pick in last year’s rookie draft to obtain him. He’s also got a lot of untapped potential, which had just started to shine through before the injury last season.
Yet, the Bills offense’s well-rounded nature will cap his upside for the foreseeable future. Is it possible his development takes off this season? Of course. Even under that scenario, however, he’s probably a few years away from approaching 100 catches.
Making matters worse, his trade value has tanked following his lack of involvement to finish his rookie season. It would be hard to move him for anywhere near fair market value right now. People will remain skeptical until he produces consistently.

So, Coleman is merely a dynasty hold at this stage. He possesses too much upside to trade at what might end up being his career-low fantasy value.
Things can change quickly, though. Keep a trade in mind if the second-year wideout comes out firing on all cylinders in the fall. It’ll be easier to sell a breakout campaign if he strings together a couple strong performances early on.
The reality is Coleman may never become an elite fantasy weapon. He’ll hold value to the Bills as a receiver who can win contested balls, especially in the red zone. It’s tough to envision him as a 120-catch stud competing with the likes of the Cincinnati Bengals‘ Ja’Marr Chase and Minnesota Vikings‘ Justin Jefferson atop the dynasty receiver rankings, though.
In turn, if there’s a hot streak early in the 2025 campaign that causes his value to jump, it may be best to cash out rather than wait a handful of years to see whether Coleman ever lives up to the draft hype.
