Jackson has never played a game in this weather before.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has never played a game when the temperature is going to be as cold as it will be on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills host his team in the NFL Divisional Round. He doesn’t feel like changing up his game, though.
“Hopefully we have some heaters on the sideline,” Jackson joked to the press on Wednesday when discussing how he would handle the cold. “Bigger jacket, probably.”
Both of those things are fine on the sideline, but the game is played on the field. He was asked how he might try to stay warm on the field, specifically by wearing gloves to warm his hands. He scoffed.
“I tried it in practice before. I’ll leave that up to ‘Teddy Two-Gloves’ Teddy Bridgewater,” chuckled Jackson.

Jackson is proceeding with the mindset that the cold won’t impact his play on Sunday.
“I can’t really go into a game and be like ‘Man, it’s too cold. I can’t make things happen.’ Coach will probably send me home. Eric [Decosta, Ravens GM] and them will have me go upstairs and talk to them and stuff. I gotta lock in in the cold.”
The Ravens practiced indoors on Wednesday because their outdoor fields were frozen. (So did the Bills, for the record.)
