With the Detroit Lions out of town this weekend to take on the New York Giants, Ford Field is going to be hosting a different NFL team – the Buffalo Bills.
But the Lions made sure to let their new temporary tenants know that they expect their house to be left the way they found it. Taking to Twitter, the team joked that they’d better not mess with their things while they’re away.
“Important numbers are by the phone, lock up when you leave and please don’t break the tables,” the team tweeted from their official account.
That last part was a reference to Bills fans’ tradition of jumping through tables on gameday.
The tweet is going viral with over 4,400 likes and 1,000 retweets in the past 15 minutes. Unfortunately, Bills fans don’t seem keen on committing to not breaking the tables:
“Thanks for hosting again [Lions],” WKBW’s Jeff Russo replied. “No guarantees on the tables though.”
“Hate to break it to you [Lions], but #BillsMafia is probably going to bring their own tables to break…” wrote another.
“Wait, we didn’t agree to having a team from Cleveland as our neighbors…” the Detroit Tigers baseball team said.
Interestingly enough, the Bills were already slated to play in Detroit this week as they are slated to face the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.
So the Bills won’t have to leave until Thursday night at the earliest anyway.
