The Buffalo Bills are bolstering their offense this Tuesday by signing a former wide receiver from the Kansas City Chiefs.
It’s being reported by multiple NFL insiders that Marquez Valdes-Scantling is joining the Bills for the 2024 season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills are signing Valdes-Scantling to a one-year contract worth up to $4.5 million. His deal includes a $1.125 million signing bonus.
Valdes-Scantling will join a wide receiver room in Buffalo that got overhauled this offseason. Not only did the Bills trade Stefon Diggs earlier this year, they lost Gabe Davis in free agency.
The Bills addressed wide receiver on Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting Keon Coleman from Florida State. They still need more depth though.
Valdes-Scantling, 29, should have an opportunity to be an impact player for the Bills. However, he has struggled over the past few years.
In 2023, Valdes-Scantling hauled in just 21 passes for 315 yards and a touchdown. He had 687 receiving yards the previous season.
The Chiefs already replaced Valdes-Scantling this offseason by signing Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and drafting Texas speedster Xavier Worthy.
The Bills will host the Chiefs this fall. That means Valdes-Scantling could have a “revenge game” on his mind.
