Quarterback Josh Allen has given Bills Country plenty to be thankful for this season
The Buffalo Bills are set to take on the New England Patriots for the first time this season — and there’s nothing the Patriots can do to influence a change in AFC East supremacy. Yes, the Bills managed to claim their division a fifth-straight time thanks to a dominating run this season, coupled with a very down year for the three other AFC East teams.
Right now, Bills Mafia are riding high — still smiling ear to ear from what was a fantastic win against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. And who can blame them? Everyone said this team was going to take a step back. Well, Josh Allen and the Bills had other plans.
After slumping to a barely passing 65% approval rating on the heels of a crazy loss to the Los Angeles Rams, confidence rebounded nicely in Week 15. Voters this week rang in with an overall approval rating of 93% confident in Buffalo’s direction right now.
We also wanted to know what Rumblers believe about the hotly debated 2024 NFL MVP battle. The question was whether or not Josh Allen has the MVP locked up at this stage, with three games left to play. Given that this is a Bills blog, there’s going to be a healthy amount of votes in favor of Allen’s chances — and that’s not undue attention his way.
However, just 66% of voters believe Allen’s locked it up already. Quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Saquon Barkley are doing everything they can to make the decision impossibly difficult. Both are having incredible seasons, without doubt. It’s going to be an interesting final few weeks to decide this season’s MVP.
In national polls with SB Nation, voters were asked to weigh in with their thoughts on who would cover the earlier spread of -14.5 in favor of Buffalo as set by FanDuel Sportbook. An incredible 78% of voters sided with the Bills to cover in a win (O/U 47.5).
National polls also wanted to find out what team voters believe is currently the NFL’s best. Would it surprise you to learn that the Buffalo Bills now sit at the top of that list — having defeated both the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions? Thirty-eight percent of voters say the Bills are tops in the NFL.
As for today’s opponent, the New England Patriots — here’s where Pats Pulpit voters are with their favorite team:
Only 15% of Patriots fans are confident in the team’s current direction
It’s also very difficult moving on from Bill Belichick. Just 14% of voters believe head coach Jarod Mayo is the best option in 2025
What about the Patriots’ roster most-concerns fans? Sixty-four percent of voters see clear problems with New England’s defense.
