It’s an AFC North rubbermatch to close the first night of Super Wild Card Weekend
Are you ready for a Saturday night football nightcap? Tonight, the Baltimore Ravens host the Pittsburgh Steelers for an AFC North rubbermatch with very big stakes. It’s win or go home for these division rivals.
We just found out a bit ago that the Houston Texans were very serious about cashing their tickets to the divisional round — reminding observers that an underdog in the playoffs is more dangerous than at any other point in-season.
The Ravens enter play as 8.5-point favorites with FanDuel Sportsbook, and an O/U at 44.5. Pittsburgh limped into the playoffs, losing their last four games. Meanwhile, Baltimore continued its impressive season-long run, mostly behind the arm and legs of First-Team All-Pro quarterback Lamar Jackson.
So who wins this best of three series? The Steelers are in it, struggling to field a competent offense — so perhaps this is the game where head coach Mike Tomlin reintroduces the world to quarterback Justin Fields. That doesn’t mean that Russell Wilson will sit this one out, since his playoff experience is for sure a major plus for Pittsburgh’s chances.
But the playoffs are different, where mistakes are magnified like never before. Despite Jackson and the Ravens’ postseason struggles, tonight may prove different. There’s a lot on the line and that means a ton of extra pressure on Baltimore.
Were this game in Pittsburgh, I’d like the Steelers’ chances a lot more. I picked wrong the first game, which was a common theme for me this season. No matter, as I’m taking Baltimore here.
Baltimore Ravens 27, Pittsburgh Steelers 17
Who are you rooting for, if anyone at all?
Here’s your thread for tonight’s AFC North showdown. As always, be kind to one another — and in all things… Go Bills!
