Things aren’t so mighty in Jerry’s World right now, and the Bills could really use a big night from the Cowboys
It’s a Texas-sized battle for Week 11 of ESPN Monday Night Football! Tonight, the Houston Texans made the nearly four-hour trip north to battle the Dallas Cowboys in Jerry Jones’ personal house of horrors, AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys have been awful at home this season. They have yet to win a home game (0-4) in 2024 (plus there’s last January’s terrible playoff loss), and are the only professional sports team among the big four (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) to have failed to win at home. Yikes.
Worse yet, three of their home losses have been of the blowout variety — and while I’m not talking about a newborn’s diaper situation, that might as well be the case.
- Week 2: New Orleans Saints 44, Cowboys 19
- Week 6: Detroit Lions 47, Cowboys 9
- Week 9: Philadelphia Eagles 34, Cowboys 6
Yikes! The Bills would really benefit from Dallas figuring things out tonight, but that’s less likely at this point than the potential for a UAP to emerge from the ocean. Seriously, things in Big D are not good.
The Texans enter tonight’s game against the Cowboys as 7.5-point favorites (-7.5) with FanDuel Sportsbook. The O/U is set at 41.5. It’s possible the Texans hit 42 points on their own, especially with wide receiver Nico Collins back in action with quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Nonetheless, Bills Mafia should root for a Cowboys win tonight. Here’s why, as explained by Rachel Auberger in the Buffalo Bills rooting interests guide in Week 11:
…the Bills are out of luck if they end up in a tie with the Texans at the end of the regular season. If Houston’s problem is having less wins than Buffalo when Week 18 closes, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Nearly every game I’ve picked has gone awry since I took over duties with these threads earlier in the season. But I feel pretty confident in predicting tonight’s winner. If I’m really wrong, that means the Cowboys got their you-know-whats in gear.
Houston Texans 38, Dallas Cowboys 3
Expect a blowout and to turn in early. Stay for the upset, if you fancy painful odds. Here’s your open thread for Week 11 of Monday Night Football. As always, be kind to one another, and in all things… Go Bills!
