One of the best NFL Free Agents wide receiver Amari Cooper is still available on the market this offseason. According to reports, other than Rasul Douglas, the wide receiver still finds himself ready to sign whoever sparks interest and that will likely come soon. Originally selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the former Alabama product was one of the most consistent wideouts recording back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns and two Pro Bowls after a successful sophomore year with the Las Vegas Raiders. Many rumors are floating that are linking the Raiders to Cooper which could make sense if he doesn’t find a new home soon but no one has brought him in for a visit.
Cooper got a new chance in Buffalo to possibly win a ring last season after spending the last three seasons with the Cleveland Browns. After a trade to the Bills, the wide receiver has been struggling to stay on the field only showing a few bright spots but still put up 44 receptions for 547 yards and four touchdowns. Cooper’s injury history could be what’s stopping most teams from taking on the risk, however, Stefon Diggs got a visit himself so it shouldn’t be too long if that becomes the case for the former Bill. After becoming the best wideout option for the Cowboys before the team sent him to Cleveland, he still has a lot of gas in the tank and could excel with these two teams.

WR1 for Los Angeles?
Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers had the team to go far in the postseason but with no consistent receiver, quarterback Justin Herbert didn’t get enough help down the stretch. The future was looking bright as the team entered the offseason with plenty of cap space, but after signing Mike Williams, it’s concerning to see the route the Chargers are choosing. 2024 draft pick Ladd McConkey is probably going to be the best wideout on this team after an impressive rookie year and may burn any cornerback. However, the same can’t be said about Quentin Johnston who is way too consistent for what Herbert is looking for and since losing Joshua Palmer, they need a receiver who can make immediate plays.
Williams is past his prime and may just be a chain mover for this offense. He has his moments but nothing can outwork of Cooper can bring to the table. After playing for one of the worst offenses, Cooper could excel in a Los Angeles uniform as the wide receiver room is not too overcrowded. The veteran might be slowing down but he could help Herbert lead the team to a potential AFC Championship.
Mahomes’ Depleting Department
The wide receiver room for the Kansas City Chiefs is going to look messy this upcoming season. Last year, the team lost Marquise Brown for the majority of the season but made up for it in the middle of the season trading for DeAndre Hopkins. He had a few drops in the Super Bowl and after signing with the Ravens, the team needs another capable wideout to replicate a better window for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. While Cooper has an injury background, it’s the Chiefs that could handle it.
Even though Brown is returning, the Chiefs need a new fresh of life since they could lose Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy. Cooper might be depleting but Mahomes could bring out the best in him for a Super Bowl run.
