Josh Allen and Von Miller putting their names in the record books and James Cook serving new dishes
The Buffalo Bills beat the Kansas City Chiefs and they made it look like just another day at the office. While the lead changed four times in the first half, the Bills were ahead at the end of every quarter and never trailed after Tyler Bass avenged his missed extra point with a field goal as the second quarter’s clock ticked to 0:00.
While (most of — because there is Von Miller) the Bills will tell you that handing the Chiefs their first loss after 15 straight wins was just another Week 11 game, Bills Mafia wasn’t being fooled. They brought the noise and the energy, the Bills themselves did the rest. When the field cleared, there was still plenty to Shout! about as they moved to 9-2 for the first time since 1992.

Josh Allen may have had the play of the year when, on 4th & 2, he tucked and ran for 26 yards and the score. Allen bounced off players, tore himself away from players, and outright bullied the Chiefs’ defense on his way to his 58th career rushing touchdown. With that run, Allen surpassed Hall of Fame running back O.J. Simpson for second-most rushing scores by a Buffalo Bill. Only Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas stands ahead of Allen — and it’s likely that before the end of next season that QB17 could gain the eight touchdowns needed to usurp the venerable Thomas as the best scoring rusher in Bills history.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!

Speaking of touchdown history… Allen had two touchdowns on Sunday — the first a pass to wide receiver Curtis Samuel (his first with Buffalo). The two touchdowns tied Allen with Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly for the most touchdowns all time in team history. The duo stands at 244 touchdowns a piece, a record that should be Allen’s alone the first week in December — four seasons earlier than his predecessor.
Keeping the conversation on Josh Allen, he entered the game needing just 16 passing yards to hit the 25,000 career mark. Allen, being Allen, surpassed that mark and threw for 262 yards bringing his career total to 25,246. And… Allen started the game needing just 10 completions to surpass Joe Ferguson for most completions in team history. Again, Allen being Allen, he went over and beyond and completed an extra 17. The record book now reads: Josh Allen: 2, 206, Joe Ferguson: 2,188.
Allen wasn’t the only one running to the end zone on Sunday. Running back James Cook, who only had two rushing touchdowns in each of his first two seasons in the NFL, recorded his ninth and 10th rushing scores of the season on Sunday. While it’s not O.J. Simpson’s 16 in 1975, Cook is the first Bills running back to hit the double-digit mark since LeSean McCoy in 2006.

Back to talking about catching passes in the end zone, when Curtis Samuel caught a Josh Allen pass in the flat at the KC 10-yard line and spun his way around, stayed upright, and darted into the end zone early in the fourth quarter, it was more than just the wide receiver’s first touchdown in a Bills uniform. Samuel was the 11th player to catch an Allen pass for a score this year. The Bills lead the league in spreading the ball around when it comes to touchdowns.
Perfect time for Curtis Samuel’s first touchdown as a BUFFALO BILL!

On the defensive side, there was plenty to celebrate as well. Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones became one of only 77 active players to have played in at least 150 NFL games.
Edge rusher Von Miller moved into 17th place on the all-time sacks list (he was previously tied, but the spot is his alone now) and he just needs another sack to take over 16th.

Linebacker Terrell Bernard had both a sack and an interception for the second time in his career. Bernard’s game-ending interception was the second of the night as safety Taylor Rapp intercepted Patrick Mahomes’ second pass of the night. The Bills have now recorded a takeaway in each of their first 11 games of the season, and, when they scored after Rapp’s first quarter interception, it brought their total of points off turnovers to a league-leading 84.
LET’S GO, TB!!

As a team, the Bills scored 30 points for the fifth straight game. More noteworthy is the fact that they are the first team to put 30 points on the scoreboard during a regular-season game against Kansas City since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did it in 2022.
And, if you wanted one more reason to Shout! there’s this: If kryptonite is Superman’s downfall, the Buffalo Bills might be Patrick Mahomes’. The Bills are the only team to have beaten Mahomes four times in his career.
There you have it. Josh Allen and company can say what they want about the “normalcy” of the Bills’ Week 11 game, but it was anything other than average and we’ll be Shout!ing all through the bye week.
