Syracuse participated in the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Saturday-Monday in Louisville, Kentucky. At the meet, Benne Anderson, Trei Thorogood and Sam Lawler each earned Second-Team All-ACC honors.
Anderson finished fifth in the men’s mile with a time of 4:02.95, Thorogood placed sixth in the men’s 60-meter race (6.73) Monday, and Lawler came in fifth in the men’s 5k (13:39.85).
Assaf Harari and Connor Ackley followed Lawler in the 5k in 24th and 25th place, posting times of 13:59.03 and 13:59.14, respectively. Freshman Ben Gabelman placed 28th in 14:02.79 seconds.
Four Orange athletes competed in the men’s 60-meter hurdles. David Peters crossed 10th in 7.94. Emanuel Joseph came in 11th with a time of 7.96. Isaiah Lewis finished 13th (7.99), while Isaiah Hayes placed 20th (8.38).
In the women’s 5,000-meter race, Emma Eastman finished 15th (16:17.65), followed closely by Savannah Roark with a time of 16:27.88.
The women’s 3,000-meter finals saw Eastman as the top Syracuse finisher in 21st place at 9:17.15. Freshman Selma Anderson closed out an impressive season, placing 27th in 9:21.69 seconds, while Roark finished 35th in 9:28.80.
In the women’s 60-meter hurdles, Taleea Buxton and Peyton Rollins finished with times of 8.38 and 8.54, respectively, but did not advance to the finals.
Thorogood clocked in at 21.38 seconds in the men’s 200-meter dash but didn’t advance to the finals.
Selma finished just one second off qualifying for the women’s mile finals with a time of four minutes and 40 seconds.
The meet rounded out in the men’s 3,000-meter finals, where Lawler finished in 17th place with a personal-best time of 7:58.41 seconds. Harari finished 19th (7:59.70), and Ackley finished 34th (8:11.94).
