Which transfer QB delivers in this one?
It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… time for the blog that gives you the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- it’s #FakeNunes time. Can we keep finding ways to get #jokesandgarbage into a Syracuse Orange preview? You be the judge….
Now onto this week’s opponent
Opponent: Miami Hurricanes
Location: Coral Gables, FL
Students: 12,215 students who don’t know who Michael Irvin is
The 2024 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)
We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.
Rivalry Trophy
The FNSI staff won’t give up on their quest to bring back more tradition into today’s college game. Let’s see what they’ve got for this one
The 4% Award
With agents Drew Rosenhaus and David Falk as alums of these schools, let’s honor those who work hard to get their clients paid. The winning school will get a nice plaque to hang in their facility.
Jersey Boys
Fran Brown wants to reclaim the Garden State so let’s see how the Orange stack up against each opponent.
Unlike their student body, Miami’s football team only has one player from Jersey. That’s not even close to the twenty five for the Orange.
Advantage: Syracuse
Notable Alum
Bringing back this one as we love to drop, some knowledge every now and then to help our loyal readers possibly win a trivia night. After all we are the Syracuse blog that loves you back and we take that seriously.
Dan Le Batard vs Ariel Helwani
We’re putting media personalities head to head in this one. Both left ESPN to carve out their own media space. Both are willing to be critical of their bosses, but only one was banned by the UFC.
Advantage: Syracuse because Dana White can control Joe Rogan but he can’t control Heelwani
Head Coach Radio Show Sponsor
Kia vs AmeriCU
Finally a college HC who has a proper radio show and sponsor. Do you think Cristobal drives a tricked-out Soul around South Beach?
Advantage: Miami
Fran Brown Hat Tracker
Fran went back to the DART hat and now it’s 2-1 on the season. Does he have something special for the home finale?
The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction
This one features two of the most prolific passers in the country so it’s a surprise when the first six scores come from rushing attempts. The game is back and forth as neither defense can get critical stops other than missed field goals. Syracuse gets a final minute score and then ties it when McCord dives for the pylon on the two-point conversion. We get to a fifth overtime before the Hurricanes stop Oronde Gadsden on the 1 yard line to secure the win.
Final Score: Miami 72, Syracuse 70 (5 OT)
