For all the ketchup
It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… time for the blog that gives you the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- it’s #FakeNunes time. Can we keep finding ways to get #jokesandgarbage into a Syracuse Orange preview? You be the judge….
Now onto this week’s opponent
Opponent: Pittsburgh Panthers
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Students: 19,954 students who think Carl Krauser was the neighbor on Aqua Teen Hunger Force
The 2024 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)
We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.
Rivalry Trophy
The FNSI staff won’t give up on their quest to bring back more tradition into today’s college game. Let’s see what they’ve got for this one
The Iron Kiwi
Look some of you probably think these schools could play for the Dorsett-Davis Trophy or Ditka-Mackey Bowl or even the Pickett-Dungey Cup, but as long as Pat Narduzzi’s coaching it should be the Kiwi.
Jersey Boys
Fran Brown wants to reclaim the Garden State so let’s see how the Orange stack up against each opponent.
The Panthers have 8 players from New Jersey, but that’s not even close to the 25 for the Orange.
Advantage: Syracuse
Notable Alum
Bringing back this one as we love to drop, some knowledge every now and then to help our loyal readers possibly win a trivia night. After all we are the Syracuse blog that loves you back and we take that seriously.
David Tepper vs Scott Hanson
The owner of the Carolina Panthers up against the owner of Sunday afternoons. David Tepper has ruined football in Carolina while Hanson has single-handedly raised the profile of the game during his RedZone tenure.
Advantage: Syracuse
Head Coach Radio Show Sponsor
Hotel Indigo vs AmeriCU
A hotel is definitely better than a bank.
Advantage: Pitt
Fran Brown Hat Tracker
With a 3-0 record we hope Fran stays with this bland grey number which will match the Pittsburgh aesthetic.
The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction
Syracuse hasn’t officially won in Pittsburgh since Dwight Freeney terrorized opposing quarterbacks but this series has often featured the weird and wacky. Desmond Reid is going to end up breaking some big plays and LeQuint Allen will keep pace. This game will come down to the wire and somehow Narduzzi’s conservative nature pays off when Ben Sauls hits from 57 yards out in the final seconds.
Final Score: Pittsburgh 31, Syracuse 30
