A Holiday Bowl preview TNIAAM style
It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means… time for the blog that gives you the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- it’s #FakeNunes time. Can we keep finding ways to get #jokesandgarbage into a Syracuse Orange preview? You be the judge….
Now onto this week’s opponent
Opponent: Washington State Cougars
Location: Pullman, WA
Students: 120,876 students who are wearing the Pac-12 Champion merch they got for Christmas
The 2024 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)
We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.
Rivalry Trophy
The FNSI staff won’t give up on their quest to bring back more tradition into today’s college game. Let’s see what they’ve got for this one
The Egg Nog Bowl
With the winning head coach having to get a post-game egg nog bath from Joey Chestnut, then it’s a no-brainer that the Egg Nog Bowl is the only suitable trophy from this game.
Jersey Boys
Fran Brown wants to reclaim the Garden State so let’s see how the Orange stack up against each opponent.
It’s no surprise that no one from the Garden State is on the Cougars roster while it’s twenty five and counting for the Orange.
Advantage: Syracuse
Notable Alum
Bringing back this one as we love to drop, some knowledge every now and then to help our loyal readers possibly win a trivia night. After all we are the Syracuse blog that loves you back and we take that seriously.
Edward R Murrow vs Ted Koppel
We couldn’t pass up this opportunity to make this another #JournalismBowl but in this case it’s really tough to beat the guy with the journalism award named after him.
Advantage: Washington State
Head Coach Radio Show Sponsor
None vs AmeriCU
Maybe no radio show sponsor is why Jake Dickert left for Wake Forest??
Advantage: Syracuse
Fran Brown Hat Tracker
Fran stayed with the black DART hat and now it’s 3-1 on the season. Does he have something special for the bowl game or will it keep riding the hot streak?
The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction
WSU quarterback Zevi Eckaus matches Kyle McCord pass for pass in the first quarter as both teams get 14 points heading into the second. That’s where the Orange defense makes a play to get Syracuse rolling into a two-possession halftime lead. After McCord leads another scoring drive, Fran Brown goes to his reserves the rest of the way as the Orange take another winning flight back from the West Coast.
Final Score: Syracuse 44, Washington State 24
