The Syracuse Orange are on the rise.
On Sunday, former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord made his decision to transfer to Upstate New York and play for Fran Brown’s new look ‘Cuse squad.
Sharing the news with ESPN, McCord explained what made him want to transfer to SU after his success as QB1 in Columbus.
“I think the experience on the coaching staff is extremely important,” McCord said. “It was a big factor in my decision. Just being at a place where I can be surrounded with good players. They’ve done some good things on the portal trail, bringing in some guys from Georgia and other places. All of that, when you combine it, makes it an appealing destination.”
“The pieces are all coming together at the right time.” Here’s the @espn story on Kyle McCord detailing why he transferred to Syracuse. He’s the highest commit to the Orange since ESPN began recruiting rankings in 2006. He was No. 31 overall in 2021 class. https://t.co/XkrjiEOdHR

McCord went to explain that he has a lot of faith in what Brown is building in his first year at the school.
Saying, “What Coach Fran has been able to do in the last few weeks since becoming head coach, it speaks volumes. I think the pieces are all coming together at the right time.”
“I have one more chance to go out and really commit myself, and going through the process, I was looking at schools where I’d have a chance of winning right away,” the quarterback concluded. “And with the pieces going there, I’ll definitely have that option.”
