Wednesday was the final of the Jim Boeheim era at Syracuse.
Boeheim, who had been the head coach of the program for the last 47 seasons, announced his retirement after Syracuse fell to NC State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Dick Vitale, who has been a college basketball analyst for a long time, tweeted about that news and confirmed that he didn’t like how all of it went down.
“I wish there was a better finish than what I witnessed concerning the JIM BOEHEIM announcement. I would’ve liked to see more LOVE between ALL parties involved including the Administration & Jim. It seemed like a very COLD ending for a man that bled ORANGE for 6 decades,” Vitale tweeted.

Vitale does make a good point because Boeheim was a bit weird with the media after Wednesday’s loss.
He didn’t confirm nor deny that he was retiring before the university sent out a statement confirming that he was.
In the end, he still had one heck of a tenure as he helped lead the Orange to a title in 2003 along with over 30 NCAA Tournament appearances.
