A Syracuse radio host was fired for virtually no reason on Sunday.
Brent Axe, who had his own radio show for ESPN Radio Syracuse, was fired after he was told that he was “too negative” about Syracuse sports, notably the basketball program.
This led to a lot of people getting upset since being negative when things are bad is part of the profession. Even Keith Olbermann wasn’t a happy camper when he saw the news.
“In all my years in sportscasting, two coaches stood above the rest in complaining, blaming, b*tching about, and trying to cause firings of, radio-TV people: Bobby Knight and Jim Boeheim. Looks like that second little man got a scalp on his way out,” Olbermann tweeted.

Boeheim definitely knew that Axe was given the “ax” because Boeheim is part of the group that owns Galaxy Media Partners, which owns the station along with Syracuse.com.
Sometimes, people need thicker skin, and Boeheim, along with the decision-makers at Galaxy, failed in that regard.
