The family of a man who was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by former Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim has reached a settlement.
Boeheim and the family of Jorge Jimenez, who died in 2019, have reached a settlement but have requested the terms of it to remain sealed, per ESPN.
Jimenez was a passenger in a car that hit a guardrail and Boeheim hit the car while he was driving home from a game. Jimenez was later pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the crash.
No charges against Boeheim were filed as he was found to have not been driving recklessly.
Boeheim is coming off his final season as head coach of the Orange. He retired after being the head coach for 47 years and leading them to a national title in 2003.
Adrian Autry replaced him back in March after Syracuse was eliminated from the ACC Tournament.
