Whole Lotta Orange heading to Indianapolis
The Syracuse Orange are set to have one of their strongest NFL Draft classes in a very long time. Many key players on the 2024 squad had great individual seasons, and if it wasn’t apparent that pro teams would have their eyes on quite a few of them, some more evidence of that just came out.
Five Orange stars have been offered invitations to the upcoming NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis: QB Kyle McCord, TE Oronde Gadsden II, RB LeQuint Allen, Edge Fadil Diggs, and DB Alijah Clark. It’s the most players SU will send to the Combine in over 20 years.

All five players were also part of recent prospect events, with Allen appearing in the Senior Bowl and the other four participating in the Shrine Bowl.
The offensive trio all shattered records in 2024. McCord is now the all-time ACC single-season passing leader (4,779 yards), as well as SU’s record holder for single-season completions, passing yards and TDs (34). Allen departs as the program’s top receiving back with 119 career catches and also led the conference with 16 rushing TDs last fall, while Gadsden is far and away the top Orange receiving TE in both catches and yards.
On the defensive side, Diggs was a force off the edge, with 7.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Clark meanwhile had four pass breakups and an interception to go with 59 total tackles as one of the secondary’s leaders.
LBs Marlowe Wax and Justin Barron, WR Jackson Meeks, and OL Savion Washington are the other four ‘Cuse players to have declared for the Draft.
The Combine will be held February 27 through March 2 and largely televised on NFL Network.
