Franklin currently leads the NFL in total tackles with 165 heading into the final week of the regular season. He has led the Indianapolis Colts in total tackles for the last three seasons, including the current campaign. Franklin finished second in the league in total tackles last year behind Bobby Wagner and fourth the year prior.
He recently signed a three-year, $31.26 million contract extension in the offseason.
Franklin was the second three-time captain in Syracuse history, the first one in over 100 years. He totaled 311 tackles and 31.5 tackles for loss in his Orange career. Franklin was named to an All-ACC team twice at Syracuse.
He was a seventh round draft pick by the Colts in 2018.
Franklin is one of three Colts to be named to the Pro Bowl. He joins Jonathan Taylor and Quentin Nelson. Franklin is the first Syracuse Pro Bowler since Chandler Jones in 2021.
The Colts are 7-9 on the season and were eliminated from playoff contention after last week’s results. They finish the regular season on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
