Another addition to the Orange receiver corps.
The Syracuse Orange have added an SEC transfer with three years of eligibility remaining: WR Tyshawn Russell.

A 6-foot, 175 lb. receiver, Russell spent two seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks, appearing in 10 games and catching five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown as a freshman. He then redshirted in 2024.
The Harrisburg, PA native was originally a three-star prospect and the composite #25 prospect in his state. In addition to the one from east-coast USC, Russell received offers from Central Michigan, Virginia Tech, and FCS Maine.
This offseason, he also had transfer offers from UMass and Akron according to his Twitter profile. He is the second wide receiver that Fran Brown has added via the portal, along with veteran Chris Long from Rutgers.
SU’s receiving room is still in excellent shape for 2025 with top target Trebor Pena returning and only Oronde Gadsden and Jackson Meeks expected to depart.
Check back throughout the winter for more updates on the Orange roster.
