The Syracuse Orange completed the 2026 football schedule yesterday with the announcement of a two-game series with the Toledo Rockets.

This games the Orange home games in 2026 against New Hampshire, Toledo, Notre Dame, California, Clemson, Louisville, and SMU. Syracuse will face UConn, Boston College, UNC< Pitt and Virginia on the road that season. The Orange are currently scheduled to host New Hampshire on September 5th and Toledo on September 19th with the return to Toledo penciled in for September 22, 2029.
The Orange still have future OOC scheduling to resolve. Right now, Syracuse has two OOC opponents for 2027 and 2028 (Penn State and UConn) with road games against the duo in 2027 and home games in 2028. It wouldn’t be a surprise if one of those games switched so it was one home and one away each year, but the Orange need to get two more games scheduled sooner than later.
We don’t know why Syracuse continues to schedule 1:1 agreements with non-P5 schools, but it’s one of the issues with chasing to fill a schedule. You don’t have the leverage when you need games, and now the Orange have a game that doesn’t seem to have much value
Syracuse is 3-0 against Toledo all-time and anyone who tries to tell you otherwise needs a history lesson.
