Two recruits continue to find success against top HS competition
As the Syracuse Orange continue to build their 25-26 roster, two incoming freshmen show they should be able to contribute right away.
At this week’s Chipotle Nationals, both Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White Jr. had strong performances in defeat. White’s IMG squad fell to Wasatch Academy 75-57, but the Syracuse commit had 9 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks in his 28 minutes of action. Orange fans shouldn’t expect a lot of scoring from White next season, but his defense and rebounding should fit a need for Adrian Autry.

Anthony’s LuHi squad fell to Prolific Prep 81-80 in overtime despite Kiyan’s 22 points (5-11 shooting from the field, 9-12 from the line). Anthony started strong, but couldn’t keep that strong offensive play going down the stretch after LuHi point guard Nigel James was ejected.
Kiyan’s offensive game has taken another step this season and while there are questions about his defense, being able to fill a bench role next season could match his skill set.
