Another notable name from the 2024-25 roster is off to the portal.
A third player from the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team’s 2024-25 roster will officially be heading off to test out his options elsewhere.
Elijah Moore, a six-foot-four guard who first joined the Orange as a four-star recruit, will be entering the transfer portal. Joe Tipton of On3 first broke the news Saturday.

Moore averaged 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 15.7 minutes per game during his lone season with Syracuse, shooting 39% from the field, 31.5% from three and 75% from the foul line. He suited up for 26 total games, 16 of which came as a starter.
The guard from New York brought a lot of promise to the table as one of three prospects from the recruiting class of 2024 to join the program. Moore had a couple breakout games early on to start, including a career-high 24 points against Tennessee and multiple double-digit scoring performances against Syracuse’s non-con slate.
But by the time ACC play came around, Moore found himself in a smaller role. He reached 10 points or more in scoring just once, had nine games where he chipped in zero points and never played beyond 17 minutes in a game between December 28 and the end of the season. He last suited up on the court on February 15 against North Carolina.
Moore becomes the third player from the 2024-25 roster to commit to entering the transfer portal, joining forward Chris Bell and guard Kyle Cuffe.
With Moore presumed to be gone for good, the Orange now have up to eight available scholarships for next season.
Now it’s your turn: what are your thoughts on Moore opting to enter the transfer portal?
