He’ll have to earn a spot at the G League Combine
After receiving an invite to the NBA Draft Combine last spring, Syracuse Orange Draft prospect Judah Mintz may not be making a second trip this year.
According to this official press release from the NBA, Mintz did not receive an invitation to return:
The NBA announced today that 78 players have been invited to the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, which will take place from May 12-19 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.

In total, 78 players were invited to this year’s combine for the 2024 NBA Draft. Mintz was projected as a mid-to-late second round pick last year back when he did receive an invitation to the 2023 draft combine. Mintz eventually announced he was returning to the Orange for his sophomore season.
To earn one of the few remaining spots, Mintz will have to impress at the G League Elite Camp, which takes place the two days before the main showcase. Mintz was selected as one of 44 players who will participate in scrimmages for two days in Chicago as part of the camp, beginning on May 11.
At least a half dozen players from the G League Elite Camp will move on to the NBA Draft Combine, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
Process: NBA teams vote for 75 players they’d like to see invited to the Draft Combine. The 78 players with the most votes got into the Combine, and then the next 44 got in to the G League Elite Camp. So 75 votes for 122 spots in Chicago. https://t.co/X0SyQaZfQu

Mintz officially announced he would enter the NBA Draft process on April 11. He averaged 18.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game last season for Syracuse.
Compared to last year’s NBA Draft cycle, Mintz hasn’t appeared nearly as much in mock drafts despite jumping from a borderline All-ACC player in 2022-23 to making the All-ACC second team this past season.
All signs do point to Mintz’s draft stock not being nearly as high now as it was last year. He’ll have to prove some people wrong in Chicago next week.
