Another CW game for these two rivals
The Syracuse Orange (10-13, 4-8) are home tomorrow afternoon as the Boston College Eagles (10-12, 2-9) come to the JMA Dome. Tip-off is tomorrow at 3:15 pm on The CW and here’s what we’re predicting:
Kevin: Syracuse 77, Boston College 74
I think Syracuse can once again find success in the paint against BC. We’ll see how BC tries to guard JJ Starling, but the extra attention should open up more space for the rest of the Orange. This is another game where Naheem McLeod can see some minutes so hopefully he can impact the game defensively. If Syracuse can keep the turnovers under 10 in this one, they should be able to get back in the win column.
Dom: Syracuse 82, Boston College 71
Both Syracuse and BC rank bottom-four in the ACC in giving up the most points per game, but neither boasts elite shooting and thus this will likely be another game where the margin of victory is between five to eight points. BC’s offense ranks similarly to Cal, only the Eagles don’t get to the foul line as much as the Golden Bears. The game stays close in the first half, but follows a similar playbook as their last duel and Syracuse shoots just well enough to remain ahead.
Mike: Syracuse 71, Boston College 62
As bad as this season has gone, BC’s recently been even worse. It won’t be pretty, but much like last year’s matchup in the Dome, SU will heat up just enough in the second half to claw out a win.
Max: Syracuse 83, Boston College 72
It’s no secret that these squads struggle in a variety of areas. I’m most interested in the rebounding battle, though. The Orange have outrebounded their opponents in their last two games (even with a seismic loss), while the Eagles have failed to get the advantage in their previous six. Syracuse won the earlier head-to-head matchup while tying on the boards (36-36), and with these two trending in opposite directions, the Orange will take the rebounding margin and come out with an even bigger win than last time.
Szuba: Syracuse 77, Boston College 69
There’s no looking past what happened to Syracuse on Wednesday night. At the same time, Boston College has dropped seven of its last eight and if the Orange can handle BC on its home floor, there’s reason to believe it can also handle the Eagles at the dome. Expect Starling to bounce back in the scoring column and Syracuse’s role players to perform better against a horrid defense. Orange be three possessions.
