Still a field hockey school
The Syracuse Orange athletics season is in full swing so we are back with these weekly recaps as we look to broaden our coverage of the Olympic sports.
Field Hockey (12-4, 4-3)
The Orange scored two non-conference road wins this week. First was a 7-2 rout of Bucknell followed by a 3-1 road win over #8 UConn. This is a big resume win for the Orange.

The Orange will host Boston College this Friday in the regular season finale.
Women’s Soccer (6-8-2, 0-8-1)
Syracuse dropped their final home game 3-1 to Miami. Ashley Rauch scored to tie the game, but Miami scored two goals in three minutes to secure the win. After making five saves, Shea Vanderbosch moved into 4th on the all-time list.

Syracuse will travel to Boston College to close out the 2024 season.
Volleyball (13-9, 1-9)
After a tough five-set loss to Virginia, the Orange finally got their first ACC win with a five-set win over Virginia Tech. Ava Palm led Syracuse with 19 kills in the win.

Syracuse will host travel to NC State and Wake Forest this week.
Cross-Country
Syracuse finished the regular season with strong runs at Cornell. Running a mix of Orange and unattached Orange, the women took eight of the top nine spots led by Justus Holden-Betts. The men had the top six finishers led by freshman Ben Gabelman.
Syracuse will be at the ACC Championships on Friday morning.
Ice Hockey (2-7, 0-0)
Syracuse dropped two games to Boston University (4-1 and 3-2) bringing their losing streak to seven games.

The Orange will open AHA conference play at Penn State next weekend.
Tennis
Syracuse competed at the Big Red Invitational with Cornell, Lemoyne and Niagara where they went 12-0 in singles matches and 4-2 in doubles.
The Orange will be at Buffalo next weekend.
