Syracuse still has athletes chasing titles this week
The Syracuse Orange athletics season is in full swing so we are back with these weekly recaps as we look to broaden our coverage of the Olympic sports.
Field Hockey (13-7)
The Orange dropped a 1-0 overtime decision to Harvard in the first round of the NCAA Championships. Syracuse held the Crimson until Lara Beekhuis’ shot ended the Orange season
Volleyball (14-14, 2-14)
Since our last update Syracuse dropped 3-0 decisions to Louisville, Georgia Tech and Clemson, but won a five-set thriller over Notre Dame. The Orange play a home and home series with Boston College this week.
Cross-Country
Syracuse’s got both the men and women headed to this Saturday’s NCAA Championship meet at Wisconsin.

Ice Hockey (4-9, 2-2)
Syracuse swept RIT to get their first two conference wins. The Orange won 4-2 at home then took a 1-0 decision on the road behind a 33-save shutout from Allie Kelley.
Syracuse will travel for a two-series with Lindenwood this week.
Tennis
Serafima Shastova will be one of 64 players competing at the NCAA Singles Championships starting this morning. Shastova will face the 4th seed Eliza Tomase of the Tennessee Volunteers in the opening round.
