And despite the snow, it’s softball season
The Syracuse Orange athletics season is in full swing so we are back with these weekly recaps as we look to broaden our coverage of the Olympic sports.
Ice Hockey (12-20, 10-8)
Syracuse swept their weekend series with Robert Morris winning 4-1 and 5-1 as they get over .500 in conference play. Bryn Saarela added three points over the weekend to push her season total to 27 which leads the Orange.
Syracuse will finish the regular season with two games at Mercyhurst next weekend.
Softball (5-0, 0-0)
The Orange began their 2025 season with a sweet at the UNC Wilmington Tournament. Syracuse only allowed three runs over the five games as they beat UNCW and LeMoyne twice and added a win over Queens.

The Orange head to Columbus, Georgia for the Columbus Classic next weekend.
Tennis (6-0, 0-0)
Syracuse swept the weekend as they defeated both BU and BC by 5-2 scores. Against the Eagles, Syracuse took the doubles point and then four of the six singles matches and even though both schools are in the ACC, this was not a conference match-up….and you thought they only did this in football.
The Orange will host Columbia next weekend.
Track and Field

At the Utica meet, Marissa Saunders won the 60m hurdles, Olivia Garner took 2nd in the 60m and 200m and Caroline Kirby was 2nd in the mile. Isaiah Hayes was 2nd in the men’s 60m hurdles.
