Let’s catch up
The Syracuse Orange athletics season is in full swing so we are back with these weekly recaps as we look to broaden our coverage of the Olympic sports.
Ice Hockey (8-20, 6-8)
Syracuse split a home-and-home with RIT this weekend. The Orange dropped a 2-1 decision on the road before grabbing a 3-2 home win behind goals from Heidi Knoll, Sami Gendron, and Charli Kettyle. Allie Kelley made 32 saves in the win.

Syracuse will host a two-game series with Lindenwood this week.
Tennis (3-0, 0-0)
The Orange have reeled off three straight home wins to start the spring season. They dropped Cornell 6-1, James Madison 5-2 and swept Fordham 7-0 on Sunday. Up next is a home match against Drexel.

Track and Field
The Orange were in New York City last weekend for the Dr. Sander Scorcher. Taleea Buxton took first place in the women’s invitational 60m hurdles with a time of 8.42 with teammate Peyton Rollins finishing 4th in 8.59. Shayla Ford took first in the women’s open 400m dash with a time of 58.78.
For the Syracuse men, Emmanuel Joseph was second in the men’s invitational 60m hurdles with a time of 7.88. The Orange head to Clemson (sprint/hurdles) and Boston (distance) next weekend.
