Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord had a first-half to forget on Thursday night against Pittsburgh.
McCord threw three pick-6s in the first half against Pittsburgh, who took a 31-0 lead into the break. He had no answer for the Pittsburgh defense and still hasn’t had an answer for that unit in the second half.
Pittsburgh was the first team in the country to have three defensive touchdowns in a half this season.

McCord threw four total interceptions in the first half before he had a rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
He was rolling before this game, throwing for 2,160 yards, 19 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He had also helped the Orange win five of their first six games and had them squarely in the ACC Title conversation before this contest.
The Panthers are showing that they’re not only one of the top teams in the ACC but one of the top teams in the country. They’re a real threat to get to the College Football Playoff right now.
Assuming a massive comeback isn’t in the cards, the Orange will fall to 5-2 heading into their next game against the Virginia Tech Hokies while the Panthers will improve to 7-0 before their next game against the SMU Mustangs.
