Olivia had missed the last two games in the last week against North Carolina and Northwestern, and we were all hoping it was not going to be for a long term reason.
It’s obviously a massive loss for a Syracuse team that was already short on experienced, veteran players on the field. The team will now be relying on her experience in an advisory role.
Aside from the on-field leadership, Olivia’s absence presents huge questions for the offense and the draw control unit. There’s really no replacing her skill-set on this roster. It’s going to have to be a collective effort and it’s going to force the young players to grow up faster than anticipated if this team is going to keep themselves on any kind of track this season.
Best of luck to Olivia on her road to recovery from this injury.
The Orange are back in action this afternoon when they host the No. 12 Clemson Tigers at 12 PM on ACC Network Extra.
