It’s Rivalry Tuesday, with three trophies up for grabs!
We’re getting close to the end of the MAC football regular season, which brings a bit of melancholy, but Week 13 at least plans to go out with a bang.
There’s three trophies up for grabs this week, with the Victory Cannon (Central Michigan vs. Western Michigan), the Wagon Wheel (Akron vs. Kent State) and the Mallory Cup (Miami vs. Northern Illinois) all being fought for on Tuesday night under the lights.
Wednesday has games with overall postseason intrigue, with Ohio battling Toledo to stay in prime position for Detroit, while Buffalo and Eastern Michigan play in the (unofficial) Ontario Sandwich rivalry. EMU is still seeking a bowl berth despite their white hot start to the season against a stout Buffalo team.
Saturday features a pair of interim coaches looking to make an impression, with interim Shane Montgomery guiding UMass as they take on yet another SEC opponent in the eighth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs, while Ball State’s Colin Johnson looks for the interim bounce against a BGSU squad desperate to stay alive in the MAC title race after some stumbles.
