Our window to bet on basketball is waning with every minute that passes. We are down to one game remaining this tournament. So we have to get while the getting is good. Today’s championship matchup will give us true champ and either craft a narrative about a coach or a conference. The tourney itself has been largely chalk but the Final Four delivered with two great games that gives us our participants this evening. It’s fitting in a way. A fundamentally sound team in Houston against the best team from the best conference in Florida. Let’s hope for another banger of a game and a tilt befitting a title.

Storylines:
- Houston’s Mental Reset – After their dramatic comeback against Duke, Houston needs to avoid an emotional letdown. Historically, teams that pull off huge Final Four wins sometimes struggle in the title game.
- Walter Clayton Jr. vs. Houston’s Defense – Florida’s star guard has been unstoppable, leading the tournament in scoring. Houston’s elite defense will try to blitz him on ball screens and force other Gators to step up.
- Florida’s Perimeter Defense – Houston’s sharpshooting guards—L.J. Cryer, Milos Uzan, and Emanuel Sharp—are lethal from deep. Florida wants to run them off the three-point line and force them into tougher shots.
- Battle in the Paint – Houston thrives on physicality and second-chance points. Florida’s bigs need to hold their ground, avoid foul trouble, and match Houston’s intensity inside.
