Stewart averaged 6.0 yards per carry across a prolific Bowling Green career.
One of the best offensive players in the MAC, Bowling Green running back Terion Stewart, announced entry into the transfer portal Wednesday.
Stewart issued a statement on Twitter, thanking God, his friends and family, and the Bowling Green coaching staff for helping him throughout this journey:

Stewart spent five seasons in Bowling Green, totaling 2,359 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns on a spectacular average of 6.0 yards per carry. He ranks seventh in Falcon history in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns as the top running back of the Scot Loeffler era.
Stewart was a Second Team All-MAC selection in 2023 with 762 rushing yards and eight touchdowns and is certain to reappear on the All-MAC team in 2024 as the conference’s fourth leading rusher with 890 yards and six touchdowns.
The 5’9”, 220 pound Memphis native eclipsed 100 yards on four occasions this season, opening the year with a 161-yard, 3-touchdown rampage against FCS Fordham. He was instrumental in Bowling Green’s five-game win streak from Oct. 19 to Nov. 23, averaging 104 rushing yards per game over that span.
Stewart also posted four 100-yard games in 2023 (including 138 in a 38-27 win at Georgia Tech), one 100-yard game in 2021 (a career-high 170 at Buffalo), and one as a true freshman in 2020. He was not enrolled at Bowling Green for the 2022 campaign, which provides him an extra year of eligibility for 2025.
In his four seasons with the Falcons, Stewart never averaged below 5.6 yards per carry, serving as an explosive runner from his true freshman season in 2020 to present day. Where Stewart will execute his final year of eligibility is currently unknown.
While transfer portal entries are permitted to compete in bowl games, it is not often the case. If Stewart does not participate in Bowling Green’s upcoming bowl, Jaison Patterson, Jamal Johnson, and Justin Pegues are expected to carry the load from the backfield.
