EA College Football has launched for those who pre-ordered; we scan the general rankings so you don’t have to!
The wait is finally over— at least if you spent the dosh.
EA Sports College Football 25 (not NCAA Football 25, it should be noted) was released on July 15th to those who ordered either the deluxe version of the game or the MVP Bundle (which includes a dual purchase of Madden 25), granting us a look into the launch version of the game’s rosters before the release to the general public later this week.
We’ve separated the Mid-American Conference from the rest of the rosters to assemble the tables below for all 12 football programs— as well as current independent and future member UMass— to figure out where everyone stands and which players will hold the torch the most per the devs.
Without further ado, the rankings and what they mean:
Team overalls
Earlier in the week, there had been some leaks regarding the ratings of every team in the game, and at least for the Mid-American Conference, those leaks have proven correct.
Perhaps the most shocking of all the rankings are the Western Michigan Broncos, who despite their 4-8 record last season, were given an 80 overall rating (and the league’s best offense at 80 OVR), tying them with the MAC champion Miami RedHawks for best in the league.
MAC runners-up Toledo are in third place with 79 overall, while Ball State is the worst team in the league by a good measure on offense (66), defense (60) and overall (68.) Future MAC member UMass drops in as a 76 overall program, tying them with Central Michigan for fifth overall.
You can find ratings for overall, offense and defense for all 12 MAC programs and UMass below on this sortable chart:
School | Offense | Defense | Overall |
---|---|---|---|
Akron | 69 | 68 | 73 |
Ball State | 66 | 60 | 68 |
Bowling Green | 75 | 72 | 79 |
Buffalo | 64 | 70 | 73 |
Central Michigan | 69 | 74 | 76 |
Eastern Michigan | 67 | 62 | 71 |
Kent State | 71 | 68 | 74 |
Miami | 73 | 78 | 80 |
Northern Ilinois | 67 | 64 | 73 |
Ohio | 66 | 68 | 74 |
Toledo Rockets | 76 | 74 | 79 |
Western Michigan | 80 | 70 | 80 |
UMass (independent) | 69 | 70 | 76 |
Top 5 players for each program
As far as we could tell, there was only one player in the whole of the conference who earned a grade over 90 overall. The honor belongs to all-MAC first-team linebacker Matt Salopek, a stalwart of the Miami RedHawks front seven. His 90 overall rating was not enough to put him in the Top 100 Players list, however.
Below, we’ve assembled individual charts of the top five players for each of the 12 MAC members, as well as for UMass. If there are any discrepancies to note, we will include them under the individual teams as applicable.
Akron Zips
Player | Position | Overall |
---|---|---|
Darrian Lewis | CB | 82 |
Dayne Shor | OG | 79 |

Jon Mucciolo | OG | 83 |
Taran Tyo | OG | 82 |
Kiael Kelly | QB/CB | 77 |
Kadin Semonza | QB | 76 |
Quan Magwood | WR | 76 |
Kiael Kelly, last year’s starting quarterback, is listed at two positions on the sheet. This is because the game lists Kelly as a QB, but Kelly will move to the defense for this upcoming season.
Because you cannot change positions for players who signed NIL deals, we are unable to find Kelly’s rating at cornerback and will therefore refer to his QB rating. We are running under the assumption Kelly’s position will be changed in a future update.
