Polston picks Toledo over offers from recent national champions Michigan and Georgia, among others.
It might be a long, long time before the class of 2026 arrives on campus, but for now, Bo Polston is a Rocket man.
The four-star quarterback prospect announced his commitment to the Toledo Rockets on Monday. Polston, who currently plays for Decatur Central in Indianapolis, is the 13th-ranked pro-style quarterback in the class of 2026, according to Rivals.com.
He held offers from a gamut of schools, ranging from recent national champions Georgia and Michigan to four MAC schools — Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, and Miami (OH) — to other programs including Indiana, Marshall, Appalachian State, UMass, West Virginia, Minnesota, California, New Mexico State, Liberty, and Washington.
Toledo was the first school to offer Polston back in March 2023, and the Rockets reaped the benefits of being first. Polston announced his commitment via Twitter, tagging Toledo head coach Jason Candle and numerous Rocket assistant coaches in his post.

Polston still has two more seasons suiting up for Decatur Central, but he impressed as a sophomore last fall with 1,614 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions. The 6’2” quarterback also started as a freshman, attaining 1,683 yards and 15 touchdowns to nine interceptions. Decatur Central finished 11-3 last season, averaging 29 points per game under Polston’s direction. They qualified for the Indiana 5A state title game, falling to champion Fort Wayne Snider at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Polston’s commitment to Toledo continues the Rockets’ excellent recruiting track record under head coach Jason Candle. Per 247Sports, Toledo’s 2024 class is the highest rated in MAC history. Candle also landed the MAC’s top class in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 — a driving force which has led Toledo to 14 consecutive .500 or above finishes, including two MAC championships.
The much-anticipated arrival for the star high school quarterback will take two years, but Toledo hopes to sustain its level of success both on the field and in the recruiting game in the meantime.
