BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Sabres received goals from Dylan Cozens and Alex Tuch 99 seconds apart in a late rally to get to overtime but couldn’t come away with another point in a 4-3 loss against the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.
Bowen Byram also scored and Zach Benson had two assists for the Sabres, who lost consecutive home games after winning three in a row on the road, but have tallied points in eight of the past 11.
Conor Garland scored his second goal of the game with just over a minute left in overtime, backhanding a rebound past Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who made 18 saves.
Kevin Lankinen made 31 saves for the Canucks, as the Sabres lost despite a 34-22 advantage in shots on goal. They had 10 more shots in Wednesday night’s 1-0 loss against the Minnesota Wild.
The Sabres continue their back-to-back set Saturday night on the road against the New York Islanders.
